6. Classification of metallic bridges and their part in mass transfer

Above, when we studied the features of showering arcs, we drew attention to specific aspects of some sections. Now let us consider this process as the whole.

As it follows from studies by Mills, Slade and other authors and as it was corroborated by many our oscillograms, the showering arc development can be represented as three typical sorts of oscillograms shown in Fig. 24.

We see in the oscillograms that showering arcs can cease immediately at the stage of exponential periodic processes (Fig. 24a), but they can also retard and cease at the stage of exponential sections with shifting upwards mean line of exponential sections (Fig. 24b) and even can have complicated transients shown in Fig. 24 c, d and e.
